Last week, my sister and I marathoned the TV show, Glee. I heard it was a good show and I’d seen it around on my Facebook and Twitter feeds, so I thought, why not. Anyway, my overall opinion of the show is that it’s okay, but the characters on the show just kind of rub me the wrong way. I mean, I like the music and stuff most of the time, the characters…! >O
Rachel
Okay, I know Rachel is suppose to be annoying but really good singer (and she is), and maybe you’re suppose to start liking her as the show goes on, but I just can’t. I just hate her, so much. She’s too stuck up and her trying to get Finn even though he’s taken just pisses me off. Also, I don’t like how she just thinks she deserves everything just because she’s good. >O
Finn
I hate how Finn is so conflicted between Quinn and Rachel. Seriously, I know Quinn is pregnant so he feels obligated, since he thought that the baby was his, but if he’s gonna stick with Quinn, stop leading Rachel on! ARGH! Especially that one episode when he was trying to get Rachel to come back to the Glee Club — OMG, I seriously wanted to SMACK HIM. >O And also, he’s not even that good of a singer!
Quinn
I’m okay with Quinn, for the most part. I mean, there’s the fact that she slept with Puck when she was with Finn, but other than that, she doesn’t annoy me too much. But then again, there’s the whole Celibacy Club president and then you find out that she got pregnant — so hypocritical.
Puck
I think Puck is okay too, kinda. I mean, he has the right intentions in regards to Quinn, but at the same time, he’s such a womanizer. x_x
Kurt
Kurt is nice, but I’m kind of annoyed that he’s, like, the stereotypical gay boy. I wish the writers wouldn’t just go with stereotyping for his character. =/
Will Schuester
Mr. Schuester just annoys me. His semi-flirting with Emma and just his overall personality just kinda rubs me the wrong way. I hate how he just keeps giving the lead roles to Rachel and Finn and not really letting others shine and how he just thinks he knows best for the club and stuff. I know that there was one episode where he gives the lead to Tina instead of Rachel, but that was seriously only ONE instance.
Terri Schuester
Dude, Terri just annoys the hell out of me. I mean, I know that in the beginning she really thought she had a baby, but after she found out that there wasn’t a baby, she should have just been honest! I know she wanted to keep Will ’cause she saw him drifting, but honestly! There’d be less drifting if she was just honest from the beginning! And also, she was a bitch to begin with! In the beginning when she wasn’t even “pregnant”, she was always wanting and complaining and buying and ARGH! I hated her from the start.
Emma
Emma is cute and her clean-freak thing is kinda funny, but it’s kind of annoying how she’s going after a married guy. x_x I mean, her crush is cute, but I can’t help be kinda hate her a little for her attitude towards Ken.
Ken
I feel SO BAD for Ken, since he just gets the raw end of the deal. He’s so in love with Emma and even though he kind of has her, he still ends up losing to Will in everything. =/ I totally understand how later in the show, he kind of forces the issue between Emma and Will and how he, in the end, rejects marrying Emma since it wasn’t fair to him.
Sue
Sue is all kinds of awesome, lol. I just like how she’s a bitch and she knows it. And her Sue’s Corner..! GOD, that is awesome, lol. And even though she’s kind of evil, some of the things she says (in her show and otherwise) is pretty spot-on. For example, when she gave that one girl with Down Syndrome a spot on the Cheerios and Will was all like, “Oh you can’t treat her that way!” and stuff and her response that she’s just treating her like everyone else — normal. There was other things too, but I can’t remember them right now, lol.
(I know I’m missing characters, but whatever. All the others I didn’t mention I pretty much am okay with.)
As you can see, I pretty much hate (dislike) almost all the characters. It makes it hard watching when you just want to knock some sense into the characters whenever they’re on screen! I just can’t understand the overall appeal because the main characters aren’t very likeable (in my opinion) and there are way too many things that happen in the show that kind of piss me off. Like, when Puck put pot in the cupcakes, or how Terri and her sister talk Quinn into giving up her baby to Terri, or the emotional (and physical) infidelity in so many of the characters. Also, how Rachel and Finn end up being the leads basically the whole time doesn’t really appeal to me because, even if they are the “best”, it doesn’t mean that they should always be the stars. Glee Club is a TEAM effort and it doesn’t feel much like a team when the leads are always casted to the same people. Lastly, all the drama in the show just feels too over-the-top to me and a lot of the characters are too stereotypical and/or caricature-ish.
I know there was a lot of other things I probably forgot to mention, but yeah. I don’t know if I’ll continue to watch it later on, but if I do, it’ll just be because I want to know what happens (you know how it is, like when something bad happens, but you can’t help but watch, haha).

It’s been a while since I’ve last updated — it’s pretty much been a tweet archive around here! Hopefully that will change now that I’m on break and can get into a regular blogging habit. =)
Fall quarter was pretty much a bust, grade-wise. Very disappointed with my grades, but not entirely unexpected — I think I even phrased that the same as my tweet on the subject, haha. But yes, for all the effort I put into my classes, I can honestly say that I didn’t put enough effort into any one class to get anything worthwhile. =/ I didn’t even pass ARCE 302 (Structural Analysis) — well, I suppose D is done, but I think I need a C- for the minor. I’m still considering whether to retake it next quarter or wait until next fall.
My design-build studio went pretty well, if you consider getting along with your group going well, lol. I think my group was the only one that actually did get along — everyone else had problems (arguing, people not showing, people not working, etc). We didn’t win, but our group wasn’t aiming to win the competition in the first place, so it’s all good. I’ll be posting our work here soon, so look forward to it, haha.
And now, on a non-school related note, yesterday I had a be-lated birthday dinner at BJs. The food was pretty good and it was nice to see all these people I hadn’t seen in a while. Afterwards, we headed over to BoB’s house for a rousing game of Cranium — it’s more fun than it sounds. ^_~ My team won, so obviously that means we are the best. XP
Gotta go now, but I’ll try to get some book reviews up in the next couple of days, since I just finished reading some books. =)
