Currently on the train heading home for the weekend and I figure it's about time I finish writing up my account of CONSTRUCT 2009 for my blog as well as to cross-post parts into the Cal Poly CSI blog (kinda annoyed that no one wants to blog on some content, but what can I expect? Discussion for another time, I guess). Will talk about summer school and other stuff after the convention in this post as well, since I still have a good six hours (as of typing this) to go before I get to San Diego and no internet to break these into separate posts (yes, I could break them when I finally get some access, but that would be lots more work for me since I'll be typing it all out on Semagic). XP

CONSTRUCT 2009 // The CSI Convention, which was in Indianapolis this year from June 16-19.
Summer Quarter // Ramblings on summer studio and math class.
San Francisco Trip // Field trip up to SF last weekend (June 26-27).
Books Discussion // With all the traveling, I've been doing lots of reading, so talk about these books.

Books Discussion -- Spoilers Warning! )

Okay, so it is currently 12:30PM and the train just left LA and I'm super tired after typing for three hours straight, so that's all for now. Will post once I get access to the internet.

Addendum -- it is currently 9:38PM and I'm finally posting this, haha.

Dream Width
I have a Dream Width account! XD I've been seeing people post about it for the past few weeks and it seems pretty cool, so yes. Here I am!. I made it yesterday -- I've imported my entries and changed my colors to be similar to my LJ, but that's about it... I will work on making it pretty and stuff later, when I have time. XP

CSI
The last time I really posted, I was talking about AIAS and CSI stuff -- elections have already passed for both, so I guess I should go into results first...

CSI 2009-2010 Board
President // Teresa
1st Vice President // Me
2nd Vice President // Joanna
Secretary // Grace
Treasurer // Tara

It kinda sucks that I got VP, 'cause I was really running for president -- we did president and vice presidents as a pool with everyone getting three votes, so yeah.. Teresa was really aiming for a VP spot, but I guess people liked her speech. Kinda annoyed that I didn't win, but Teresa is like my best friend, so whatever. We're mostly on the same wavelength, so it's all good.

On the other hand...

AIAS 2009-2010 Board
President // Sarah
Vice President // Ben
Secretary // Marcella
Treasurer // Nick

Just as predicted, it was the line-up. x_x I knew I had no chance of winning, with all those second years there voting for all their second year friends, but still.. Super annoying. >O I mean, I don't really have a problem with each as a person (except Ben -- Ben will always be an ASS), but it's just... ARGH. Whenever I think of AIAS now, I will always remember what they said at the "board meeting" and get super annoyed and I will think of Ben and all his BS and yes. Much anger to be had.

Anywayz... Forgetting about AIAS now...

I was working on the CSI website and I finally uploaded it over the weekend. Please go check out Cal Poly CSI. I know the layout is kinda plain, but I think it looks good that way. But then again, I'm really into the simple and clean aesthetic, so... It's still under a lot of construction, but I figure it's good to get it out now -- it has the most important things up for now, which is the about page and the join page. The other pages aren't as important right now, since the new school year hasn't even started. XP

We also have a BLOG! Wheeee! It's powered by Wordpress, so I'm not really used to it, since I obviously blog on LJ (and now DW, which is based on LJ, so same dif), but I figure that WP would be the best bet since I could install on our host and I could make it look exactly like all the other pages on the site. XP On a side note, does anyone know of a good free desktop application for posting to WP? I mean, I use Semagic for LJ, so I would like something similar, if anyone knows.

But yeah.. SUPER EXCITED about next year -- I mean, now me and Teresa are are in charge and we have a lot of plans, so yeah. XD Hopefully it'll be a good year -- I mean, the only thing I"m worried about is the membership numbers in the beginning, 'cause I feel like we'll be losing a lot of people since all those AIAS people don't like us. x_x I think we have a lot to offer though, and we're better organized and prepared, so whatever. And we have money to support our cause!

Also want to say, we decided to still meet on Wednesdays @ 6:00 PM, which was our joint time and we've already turned in the paperwork to get a room and everything, but I feel like the new AIAS board will try to compete with us. I don't know if they know we took the time yet, but whatever -- it's freakin' first come first served and we went and we already have it. It's not our fault they're not fast enough! And they can't take the same time as us 'cause we voted on it during the "board meeting" that we wouldn't have conflicting meetings. >O So annoying that some people are saying we took AIAS' time -- Mary-Alice said that CSI always had Wednesdays @ 6:00 PM, so I think we have precedent over them anyway -- CSI has been here longer than them anyway!

CONSTRUCT 2009
I'm going to Indianapolis for CONSTRUCT 2009 -- the annual CSI convention. Super excited about it! It's gonna be from June 16-19, the week after finals, so yeah. I'm flying out from San Diego on the 16th and then gonna fly back to SLO on the 20th, since I'm taking summer school. Second time flying! YAY! And I've never really been anywhere (except Arizona in October for the AIAS West Quad, but I don't really count that, since I didn't see much of it), so yes. I'm excited! XDDDD And I signed up for some pretty interesting lectures too. XD

My Education Sessions:
TUESDAY
4:00-5:30 // Energy Efficient Glazing Material - Multiwall Polycarbonate

WEDNESDAY
8:00-9:30 // Concrete Sustainability - How Green Building is Enhanced by Cement Sustainability Initiative
4:00-5:00 // Better Lighting for Less Energy

THURSDAY
8:00-9:30 // Quality Assurance for Sustainable and Energy Efficient Masonry Construction
10:00-11:30 // Global Megatrends and Next-Generation Architectural Glass
4:00-5:00 // I'm a PC and I'm a MAC - Winning Results for Product Reps and Architects

FRIDAY
7:30-8:30 // Specifications for Project Architects, Designers and Interiors; How to Protect Your Design Intent
9:00-10:00 // GreenFormat in Practice: How Manufacturers and Designers Communication about Green Products

Fun stuff! I'm really interested in the energy efficient glazing and the concrete sustainability ones. XP

LIFE
It is nearing the end of week eight and I still haven't really worked on my winery project. What's wrong with me?! I feel super guilty and dude! Project is due in two weeks! OMG! Gotta work and gotta work on making a model, damnit. x_x Hopefully my project turns out okay.. =/

I bought Silver Phoenix by Cindy Pon. XD It's totally sittig on my other chair (which is located in the center of my room), so I see it everyday when I move around my room and I WANT TO READ IT, but I can't! ;_; So much ARCE to do and wineries to be working on and yeah. ;_; But dude, first priority when I get a chance! XD

This weekend is Memorial and yeah.. I will be super lonely. =( Can't go home, since it's too close to the end of the quarter, and no one to visit me. =/ Usually, [Bad username: bobbleheadvi"] would come, but now we're not together so... I asked [info]aznearthdragon to come, but our parents won't let her. ;_; So yeah.. I'll be lonely and I don't want to go to the 5th year show all by myself, but I guess I have to. ;_; And I guess this weekend I should probably get working on my winery.. *sigh*

I'm taking summer school again this year. =/ There's gonna be a summer studio, so I'll be taking it and trading it for winter quarter studio. It kinda sucks 'cause studio will be MTWR 1-6 with Doefler, who is pretty demanding. I've had pretty laid-back studio professors this year, so I think I'll be a big change for me. =/ Hopefully it'll be okay -- we're gonna be designing a yacht ((how is this architecture?)), so it should be fun, hopefully. The only problem I have for summer is that now I have 9 units and it's ~$500 more than if you had 8 units or less. x_x This means I need to find another class to take to make summer worth it! >O But because of all the budget cuts and stuff, there aren't that many classes to take in the first place -- also, PASS is closed until the 1st for summer, so I can't even waitlist for things. x_x But yeah, I was thinking of taking Linear Analysis (from the course description, it looks like it's Linear Algebra and Differential Equations combined) just 'cause that one is still open and I need units. It'll be kinda weird 'cause more math "for fun", but [info]aznearthdragon said it was easy, so yeah. Plus, I've already put myself through the torture of the other two calculus classes that I didn't even need, so what's another math class? And one that is supposedly WAY easier than calculus (according to [info]aznearthdragon). I dunno... I wish there were more classes, but there aren't and the ones I would want to take interfere with studio or have a bazillion people on the waitlist, so yeah... We'll see, I guess, but right now, I think that will be the best option.

Okay, super tired of typing -- haven't blogged in so long that this is a workout for my fingers! -- so yeah... Will update again soon (hopefully).

School has been pretty busy, so I've slacked on the updating business. ^_^;; However, I'm still trying to make the effort, so first I'll just try to cover the highlights of the past couple of weeks. Then, I'll do another post on my classes. XD

SPRING BREAK
Spring break was pretty laid-back for me -- just sat around and did nothing mostly. Besides the one unhappy event, I hung out with friends on one of the days and we just went around UCSD to do stuff. First, had fried ice cream, then went to blacks beach (nude beach next to UCSD) and climbed all the way down the steep hill to get to the beach. I was super tired 'cause I'm SO not athletic at all. XP

After climbing back up, went over to the Salk Institute and hung around the plaza area. XD For all people into architecture, I'm sure you've probably heard of the Salk Institute by Louis Kahn, but I don't see what the big deal is. The building itself doesn't seem TOO impressive to me, but I'm not a big fan of his. ^_^;; The only good part, IMO, is the plaza, which is amazingly cool. Go check it out if you're ever in San Diego. XD

Besides hanging out with friends, me and [info]aznearthdragon watched LOTS of Taiwanese drama. XD

DEVIL BESIDE YOU
As stated in a previous post, me and [info]aznearthdragon watched Devil Beside You, starring Rainie Yang, Mike He, and Kingone. Overall, I have to say that it wasn't really all that great -- I had a lot of issues with it, lol. But yeah.. It was okay, but I do think the end was kinda lame and stuff. I dunno what else to say without going too in-depth on stuff. XP

WHY WHY LOVE
After finishing Devil Beside You, we watched Why Why Love -- we are super lame, haha. I don't know how it was possible for us to start watching another drama starring the SAME MAJOR ACTORS. Yeah, Rainie Yang, Mike He, and Kingone AGAIN! =O And still a love triangle with the same end-couple outcome. XP But I actually liked this one better than Devil Beside You. XD Still super cheesy and cliche, but if had to recommend one of these two, I'd say watch Why Why Love -- yes, it's predictable and stuff, but still cute.

CSI FORUM
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we had our annual Construction Sciences Forum. It's put on by CSI, which I'm a part of. Anyway, there was a keynote speaker on Tuesday night, but it kinda sucked 'cause not many people showed up. =( Also, the lecturer read from his notes half the time, so it wasn't as interesting. =/ When he was just talking though, without the notes, it was way better. XP

On Wednesday, I had to get up super early (after sleeping super late from doing homework) to go help set-up and stuff. Helped product reps unload and drove the electric cart to shuttle them to the parking lot and back. XD Driving the cart = super fun. XD Also, first time driving in almost three years, haha. XP

Anywayz, there was a product show during the day, then dinner in the evening, followed by a roundtable discussion. Dinner was awesome -- but it probably tasted SUPER GOOD because I basically didn't eat all day, lol. The problems with waking up early and then working all day and stuff. x_x

The theme of the forum this year was Integrated Project Delivery, so the roundtable discussion was about that. There were more attendees during the discussion, but I wish more people showed up 'cause it was pretty interesting. I think one of the speakers, Barbara Jackson (Cal Poly professor and in DBIA), said a lot of interesting points about the future of the industry and how IDP fits into it.

After it was all over, had to clean up and stuff and yeah.. didn't finish and get home until 11:30. @_@

WINERY FIELD TRIP
On Wednesday, my studio also had a field trip scheduled. I had to talk to my Chinese professor to push back my test so I could go. Also missed out on most of the product show for forum. =/ But seeing the wineries was pretty cool. The reason we went to see wineries is 'cause our design project this quarter is to design a winery. I'm kinda excited about it. XD But yeah, we went up to Paso Robles and visited Robert Hall winery and Eberle winery. Both of them are cool and have caves. The Robert Hall winery was pretty big. The Eberle one had cool caves -- seemed very maze-like, lol.

Didn't do any wine-tasting though, haha. I don't drink, but I kinda want to go wine-tasting one day 'cause it seems like a cool thing to do. XD I dunno if I'd really appreciate the wine though, lol. But we'll see -- maybe someday I'll actually go and try it out. XP

After visiting those two wineries, we went to my professor's vineyard and got to look around. It was pretty cool -- kinda out in the middle of nowhere, but there was a really nice open space on his vineyard. His vineyard is pretty secluded, so it was nice and quiet out there -- and great view of the mountains and stuff. XD

ARCE
I'm taking three architectural engineering classes this quarter and they're totally kicking my butt. =( Major reason for not updating -- 'cause I have so much homework to do! x_x I don't know if ARCE is really for me, 'cause it's hard and I never really get it the first time around. =( Takes so much out of me just to grasp how to do things. Sucks. =/ But hopefully I can pass all my classes this quarter without going super crazy trying to survive in ARCE with architecture. @_@

Next up, a post about all my classes.

MORNING
Got up around 7:05.. Got ready and stuff, then figured out how to bring stuff to school and left around 7:50.

ARCHITECTURE 132
Set up our models and pinned up our drawings and stuff.. Then went over to Brian's classroom and they talked about the new project. After telling us about it, they gave us our groups -- I'm with Caleb and Cody. Then they told us what the first site was and they said we had to document two sites by Monday, so yeah.. I don't know how much is included in this documentation for Monday, but I wanted to get as much done as possible for the first site by Friday so we won't have a lot to do over the weekend.. But yeah.. After they talked about it, we had some time to go search for which slot we wanted and finally ended up taking the one right by the stairs because of what can interact with it. Taped a paper to claim it and then we talked about when we would meet to work. After going over our conflicting schedules, it ended up being that we can't meet until tomorrow at 4:00. x_x How lame. But yeah.. I hope we can get a lot of stuff done tomorrow. =/

After that, went into the classes 'cause the review already started.. A lot more people came, but there was less food. =/ But yeah.. I didn't talk to anyone, thank goodness.. Just hung around with people and talked mostly.. That's about it.

AFTERWARDS
Went back to Stenner and went to eat lunch. After that, attempted physics for a while, but yeah.. Then later, went to eat dinner and then got my stuff and left for the AIAS/CSI meeting.

Meeting was eh. Talked about resumes and interviews and stuff.. That's about it..

I feel bad 'cause my group hasn't even started anything for the project and I'm sure most, if not all, the other groups started at least on getting the measurements. =/ *sigh* Whatever..

MORNING
So I couldn't sleep last night. Seriously. I was awake and trying to sleep forever and I think I finally fell asleep around 5:00 only to wake up from a dream nightmare of me working on one of my models for the shadow that sucks ass and yeah. So I think I fell back asleep at 6:00 only to wake up at 6:20, when my alarm goes off. Attempted to sleep longer, but yeah.. Finally got up at 6:50 because I had to, but was so tired. x_x

Got ready and ate, then got my stuff ready for school and left.

ARCHITECTURE 132
Brent was 30 minutes late 'cause there was apparently an accident on the freeway. x_x So yeah.. Did some 3-D shadow projection and I totally get that more than I got the 2-D projections. Go figure, right? x_x But yeah.. Did that, then had to draw five cubes however and project their shadows. Had to do another shadow worksheet in between and then went back to ours. At 10:00, Brent says that when we finish, we had to turn it in and we get a break until 10:30 and to get modeling supplies. x_x So yeah. I wasn't even finished until about 10:05, then I went back to Stenner to get my chipboard, cutting board, basswood, and yeah. Stupid chipboard is a huge sheet 'cause i just bought it the other day, so it sucked. And yeah.. Got back a little after 10:30 'cause I was kinda speed walking, but it was like whatever, 'cause we didn't start back up again until 10:45 and some people didn't even finish their drawings and go to get stuff! x_x And yeah. Just got into groups of three to talk about our projects, then was waiting for Brent to talk to about our projects, since he said he would be avaliable ((this was at 11:00)), but he didn't come. Then he started going around to people, so eventually went back to my desk to do nothing. Then later, he went over to the other side of the room where everyone WAS waiting but left because he didn't come and yeah.. I waited until it died down and then went to talk to him and I was the last one 'cause it was already 11:45. He just said it was better and I should like.. close some stuff up and maybe change things that seem to be of another vocabulary to basswood. Then went over to Brian's room and they told us we'd only be developing one model and only one final. Was happy 'cause I hate one of my shadows so freakin' much. For Friday, add/modify/whatever the model we want 'cause that will be the last day for feedback. Also have to do an elevation drawing of our model. x_x

AFTERWARDS
Went back to Stenner and ate lunch. After eating, it was 1:00 and I started reading my physics supplemental notes from the beginning, minus the introduction. Took notes on that stuff and yeah... I was so shocked at some points 'cause I didn't remember reading some of it at all ((I skimmed it sometimes, so maybe that's why.. and also didn't pay attention that much...)). Then at 3:00, me and Amanda went to school to check out the second year review thing. It was raining. =O Didn't think it would, but yeah.. People were saying on Monday that it'd rain from Wednesday to next Thursday, but I dunno. Maybe..

The review thing was cool. Looked at projects and talked to some people. Then later, talked to this second year girl and she invited us to check out her studio since her class wasn't with that review. Went over to her studio and it was pretty messy, but looked kinda fun. I dunno.. Cardboard stuff...

She told us to talk to some guy in her class that was double majoring in architecture and architectural engineering. @_@ Crazyness! But very admirable. XP

After that, left to go back to Stenner at 4:00. Got back and continued note-taking until about 5:00-ish, and went to dinner. After that, took some more notes, then left around 5:50 to go to the AIAS/CSI meeting.

Meeting was really boring.. Just talked about f-stop and yeah.. Left at 7:00 and went back to take notes until 8:30, when I finished and went to shower.

After that, didn't really do anything..

Decided that I'm going home next weekend, no matter what. I'm gonna leave on Thursday to take the 3:50 bus and go home! XD Gonna get in on Friday morning at 12:50 and yeah.

On Friday, gonna go to UCSD for a presentaiton thing 'cause there will be guest speakers and I need to write my paper about an outside speech and it's due on the 22nd and I haven't even done it. I mean, there's a Hearst Lecture on Friday, but I'm probably going out with Joanna. And next weekend is home and the week after that is when it's due, so yeah. Gonna do that on Friday and hang out with the dork afterwards. [info]aznearthdragon has school, so yeah. =(

Okay, really tired and shit. Gonna go brush teeth and sleep and wake up early-ish tomorrow to work on the model and set up for the drawing. Then gonna study for the physics midterm and yeah. Gonna fail the midterm, then listen to people give speeches. How exciting!

Got up around 9:00 'cause [info]aznearthdragon didn't call me in the morning... Got ready, did a load of laundry and yeah. After I was done with folding my clothes, worked on my model and finished around 1:45. XD Took forever, but I'm happy that it's at least done. Doesn't make me feel like I accomplished much though since I still haven't been able to model my object in FormZ. x_x After that, didn't really do anything until 2:45, when I left for school for the R2L firm visit. Got there and sat around, then carpooled to R2L. Talked to one of the principles, then walked around the office and talked to the people working. It was kinda interesting. After that, left and got back to school around 5:00. Walked back to Stenner and yeah.. Ate, did my weekly drawing, though I'm not sure it's correct and yeah.. That's about it..

I still need to do FormZ stuff, as well as memorize my speech and attempt some physics problems.. But yeah.. right now, I don't really feel all that much into actually caring because I'm a lazy person and I deserve a break. Will get to working on FormZ in a bit.. maybe after showering.. BLEH!

MORNING
Woke up around 6:30, but didn't get up until about 6:40. I actually felt like I got sleep, which is weird, but very good. The only reason I think I felt rested though was because I didn't get any sleep the last few days, so a little bit helped, I suppose.. After getting ready and stuff, I typed up my entry about the fire and packed up my stuff and went to school.

ARCHITECTURE 132
So I was one of the first people there, as usual.. Went on the computer and posted my entry, since the internet didn't work and then just did nothing. When class started, we didn't do anything 'cause I suppose most people from all classes didn't have their computers, so they told them to get it and yeah.. Forty minutes of pure nothing. Then we talked about FormZ stuff and then we had to work on FormZ while Brent came around to talk to us. I did my first terrain thing, the main basic one, then saved and was about to start my object when my computer died. x_x So I spent the next about hour and thirty minutes doing absolutely nothing 'cause Brent wouldn't get to me until the end, so I didn't even have an idea if what I was doing was right. =/

Have to have our four options for Friday, with the best two done on the computer and then printed on photo paper. BLAHHH! And as much as we can done of our object.. I'm redoing all my options, I think. =/

AFTERWARDS
Went back to my room, dropped off my stuff, then went to eat lunch. After that, got my book and went to the bookstore to refund it. Went back to my room and then did the reading for SCOM and the reading for physics, then the physics problems.

Worked on my drawings a bit, in the sense that I made the lines on all four sheets of paper. XP Then yeah..

Walked to school around 5:45 to go to the AIAS and CSI meeting. Got there and they just talked about all the stuff.. Bought the Winter Formal tickets and yeah.. That's about it. It finished at 6:55, then came back here and here I am now..

The internet hasn't been working since maybe 4:30 or so, so yeah.. I dunno when I can post this, but whatever.. It's 7:24 right now and yeah. Whenever the internet works, I will post.

MORNING
Got up at 6:40.. So tired, but yeah.. Got ready, changed, ate, went on the computer a bit, then shut down and put my laptop away and started walking to class. Left kinda late at 7:50. x_x

ARCHITECTURE 131
Worked on another axonometric.. I was doing okay, I thought, until near the end and I realized I messed up and drew it too high, but I didn't have enough time to fix it, so yeah.. sucked ass. x_x I didn't even finish it because of that. *sigh* Dumb thing. After that, pinned up our section drawings, set up our books, then had a break. Called [info]bobbleheadvi and talked to him until break was over. After that, talked about the section drawings briefly, then had another break.. Went over to Brent's class after that and they talked about the rest of the project. I already read it this morning before class, so yeah.. Basically, we have to make a slip case for the book, blah, blah.. Can't really explain 'cause I seriously don't really understand the project, but whatever.. Project description is HERE if you're really curious... But yeah, for Monday, we have to have our first iteration of the slip case, draw an axonometric of it on 18x24 Bristol board, and do the weekly draw. WTF. Just because we have a three-day weekend doesn't mean I want to work my ass off on a project. ;_; And, like, they were like, "You'll be working all Thanksgiving break" 'cause people were complaining they were going home and stuff this weekend and stuff and yeah.. Makes me mad 'cause I don't want to spend my Thanksgiving break doing arch stuff, you know? Brian was like, "How many turkey sandwiches can you eat anyway?" and it's like, damn, it's not even about the turkey. It's about spending time with family and having a BREAK from school. x_x *sigh* Dumb thing.. So much work to do this weekend.. =(

BREAK
Got home and was so tired.. Was unpacking my laptop bag and thinking, 'I'm not going to the shop' and then Kitto asked me to lunch and I was starved, so I went. Ate spaghetti and then came back to my room and talked to [info]bobbleheadvi on the phone until I had to walk to class...

MATH 142
Sub today.. Learned how to find the surface area of a revolved object or whatever.. BLEHHH! Too much homework.. =(

ENGLISH 134
Turned in our papers, then talked about.. something? Dun remember.. Also got the schedule changed for the essays. Rough drafts now due on the 16th and final project due on 20th. 16th is fine since it's a Thursday, but I won't be in class on Friday, so yeah.. And I wanted to ditch Monday since I'm going home, but now the plan is to go turn in the paper when class starts and then tell him to mark me absent 'cause I can't stay for class, then go home, get my stuff, catch the bus to the Amtrak station, and HOMEEEEE!

AFTERWARDS
Went to the bookstore and bought some more basswood.. BLEHHH! Then went home and basically did nothing for a while, then finished up last night's math homework. After that, ate and did nothing, then at 5:50, walked to school for the AIAS/CSI meeting. Got there and then we went on a tour of the new Bonderson building on campus. It's pretty nice, but it's an engineering building, so yeah.. Probably never gonna use it. x_x Took a long time and didn't get to leave until 7:25. x_x

Walked back home, attempted today's math homework, but it was hard. I skipped, like, most of it. x_x Then at 9:40, went to shower and yeah.. That's about it.

So tomorrow I'm gonna skip EDES 'cause we're just gonna be watching a movie and I don't want to carry my wood all the way to class.. I feel so bad about ditching it, but whatever.. =/

Today felt like Thursday so much.. Kept thinking it, even though I knew I had ARCH 131 and stuff.. so weird. x_x

Hate the fact that I have so much work to do this weekend. Gotta go buy wood, buy a lead holder, lead, and sharpener for it, get more Bristol board (maybe) and a tube thing to hold my drawings.. Gotta make the slip case and draw it, do the weekly draw, and research and write my English essay.. ARGH!

Mad at the fact that my EDES Assignment Two was moved from tomorrow to next Thursday. It would have been perfect tomorrow 'cause then I'd have the weekend to catch up on work, but with it next Thursday, I have to make sure I finish my ARCH work on Wednesday since I'll have to spend two hours at school in the evening on Thursday. x_x And then Friday, I have the Poly Canyon Project Day, and then Saturday, I'll have the Poly Canyon Tour. x_x BLEHHHHH!

Okay, gonna stop now.. BLEHHH!

MORNING
At 6:07, [info]bobbleheadvi called me. OMFG, yeah. I was like, "It's six o'clock in the morning! WTF?!" and yeah.. haha. But yeah.. I couldn't really sleep last night, so I was kinda cranky.. Like, in my dream, I was cutting up my math book and stuff and then there was math homework and I couldn't do it or something.. OMG, it sucked ass. Kept me up all night 'cause I was all paranoid and waking up thinking, 'Wait, did I?!~' and realizing, NO, I didn't, but it was still hard to fall asleep and all that, so yeah.. Sucked ass..

Got up around 6:40 and got ready and ate and stuff, then packed up and left for school. My toolbox was SO light 'cause I totally emptied it of unnecessary stuff.. Gosh, it was great, lol. XP

ARCHITECTURE 131
Worked on the axonometrics some more.. This time, we had to draw them from a worm's eye view and yeah.. so freakin' hard 'cause my pieces suck. x_x So I was struggling the whole time and then later, there was a break and I was STILL working trying to figure the last piece out. =( Even enlisted Mandy's help, but yeah.. Didn't finish. Good thing he said it was due Monday, so I can work on finishing it and stuff. After the break, which I didn't take, had to put out our books and look at them. Then went around to the other classrooms and yeah.. After that, they talked about some of the books, then yeah. They said we didn't have anything due on Monday, thank goodness, but if we wanted, we could redo the books. I'm redoing mine.. =/ After that, we got to leave early.. It was only, like, 11:20 or something. =O

Went to get my FormZ from the arch office, then asked Jamison if he could drive me around LA and he said yeah, so I'm good now. ^_^ Just need to ask Lauren to pick me up from the Amtrak station on Sunday..

BREAK
Went back home and worked on writing my cover letter for my English essay. Went to eat lunch, then came back, finished that, and organized my essay stuff to turn in. Afterwards, had to go to class...

MATH 142
Learned some stuff.. I dunno. Hardness.. I don't think I get it, but I haven't even tried the homework, so yeah.. =/

ENGLISH 134
Turned in our essays and then talked about argument and persuasion and all that.. Whatever.. Next essay is, of course, an argument one. He siad he'd give us the details on Friday, but yeah.. x_x

AFTERWARDS
Went to the library, bought another book, then went home and started to work on the old math homework that we have to turn in tomorrow, but then Kitto and Robia were like, "Come on! Take a break! Let's get boba!" so I was like, "..Okay..?" and then they got Charis and we left and walked across the street to the place, but they said that the boba place closes early on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. x_x So walked back and yeah.. Worked on my math some more, then went to eat dinner. Sat with Charis and Stephanie, ate, then later left and then went to school for the AIAS and CSI meeting.

Meeting was boring.. Just talked about fundrasiers and what's happening and all that junk. There's gonna be a Winter Formal on January 20 @ Madonna Inn. Formal and all.. Dunno how much it'll be though. I kinda wannai go, but I don't want to go without someone, you know? 'Cause then it's not as fun when you don't have someone to hang with.

After the meeting, talked a bit about the website and Arthur said he'd do the stuff for now, so yeah. Left and walked back home...

Been working on the sketches for ARCH 105 'cause it's due tomorrow. Took a shower and then yeah.. gave up on the sketching 'cause it was mostly done and then typed this.. I still gotta finish the old homework since we have to turn it in tomorrow.. And I need to at least attempt some of tonight's homework. =(

Okay, gonna do math now.. Will write more later or whatever..

Oh yeah. Today was the first day of registration, so I went to check how full my classes were so far after the meeting and yeah. The TR 7:10-9:00 ENGL 145 class is gone! ;_; I'm so freakin' sad! That made me so mad 'cause I NEED that class and now I only have one chance to get it 'cause all the other times don't work with my schedule.. Unless I decide to take it from 12:10-1:00, but that's not cool 'cause it's right after ARCH 132 and I won't have time to drop off my stuff. And then right after that, I'd have PHYS 141, so yeah.. That's, just, no. x_x Sucks ass.. I don't know what to do.. *sigh*

MORNING
Woke up almost at 7:00 again, but wasn't as stressed 'cause, yeah.. it's TUESDAY and it's only EDES and I don't have to carry a laptop, so yeah. Got ready, ate, and yeah.. Went to see what was on TV 'cause I figured, 'Hey, it's the 24th and The Black Parade comes out today' so yeah. It was, like, 7:25 and I turn on MTV2 to see what's on and waited through the commerical and what do I see? The MCR $2 Concert, but it wasn't the 30 minute one from before, but the hour one! ;_; And I already missed half of it. =( So just started recording from there and left around 7:45 and walked to school. Got there right on time, as usual.

EDES 101
The Architecture Department Head was the guest speaker for today.. I didn't really pay that much attention. x_x So bad.. =/ Instead, I was attempting to work on my ARCH 105 sketches and I have some ideas, but I didn't finish it. BLEH! Afterwards Valerie told me that her and Marcela were going to the shop to work on their boxes, but I was thinking I didn't want to go with and it's not like they invited me anyway.. But whatever. Went and took some pictures of the library for the EDES project and took a few of the business building too, just in case I choose to do that one. After that, walked back home and basically just read some fics during my break time, in between the time I worked on revising my essay. Around 11:30, went to eat lunch with my suitemates, then came back and slacked some more with reading. Around 12:50, left for school for the math study session.

MATH STUDY SESSION
Just worked a bit on math homework.. Didn't get much done. I don't even know why I stay in it since I don't get help or anything.. =/ The two time-sucking girls are always taking up tutor-gri's time and they're only on 7.5 or something in the book.. And the dude who was near me was on 7.8 or whatever. And me? I'm on 8.2, so it's like.. WTF, you know. No point.. I should just drop it.. I dunno...

MATH 142
Learned more of the stuff we were doing yesterday, then got a bunch more homework and yeah.. Sucks ass. =/

AFTERWARDS
Walked back home and worked on my math homework forever.. Basically until 5:30 and then I was "done" 'cause I couldn't do anymore of the ones I skipped, so I went and worked on cutting my book. Got a little done, then I went to go eat around 6:20. It was pizza. =/ After eating, came back and worked more on cutting. I kept getting almost cut or stabbed by the damn x-acto knives ((I have two, so yeah...)) One time, I had one in front of me or whatever and the other one in my hand 'cause i was using it.. So I basically leaned down to see better on my cutting and what do I lean on? The other x-acto knife. Yeah. That sucked ass. Good thing I didn't lean that hard, but it still hurt. x_x Dumb things..

Went to shower around 8:55 'cause yeah.. Took a break from my project around 8:45 and the internet stopped working after, like, a minute of me going on. x_x But it was working perfectly fine before, but I was cut off. x_x So was watching the TRL thing I recorded... But not really, 'cause it was more like me skipping to the MCR part and then when they left, I was like whatever and didn't watch the rest. So yeah, lol. After that, went to shower and then when I came back, it was working again, but then it stopped working earlier for like.. 30 minutes. x_x Damn it.. I think it was 'cause I was downloading. =/ Stupid thing.. *sigh*

Anywayz.. I really want The Black Parade. I swear, I was listening to that thing ALL FREAKIN' DAY when I was home this morning and even some this afternoon when I was doing math homework. It's pretty sad, you know.. It's just like, repeating over and over through the CD when you listen to it on the website, lol. ^_^;; Yeah.. I'm sad. I want the CD so much. I mean, I can download it and all ((which I diid -- yes, I'm bad. =/ )), but it's nice to have the CD when you really like something, you know? But then again, I don't have any CDs, so it's like, of course I want the CDs I love, but only the ones I love fully, you know? XP So yeah.. The CDs I want are...

- Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out
- AFI - DecemberUnderground
- My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade

Seriously, my list is so small, lol. And, it's like, I listen to a lot of other stuff, but if I haven't heard the whole CD, I'm not willing to spend money on it, ya know? And yeah.. There are other CDs I really like, but I'm limited in money and all that, so I don't really think about things like buying CDs, lol. XP But yeah.. I kinda want the Nightmare Before Christmas CD thing that's for the 3-D movie since it has a bunch of covers and yeah. But whatever.. no dwelling, Helen! XP

Okay.. yeah. So tomorrow, gotta finish my sketches and stuff for ARCH 105. I will probably end up just doing the joints in class on Thursday 'cause I probably will be too lazy to go tomorrow since it's Wednesday.. But if I can get someone to go with me, then I guess I will go and work on it..

Gotta take a few more pictures for the EDES thing tomorrow as well, then gonna probably put it together tomorrow since I might have some time ((no ARCH 131 on Friday, so it's like I don't have to stress on a project as much!!)).

AIAS and CSI meeting tomorrow. x_x Why does it have to be on Wednesdays? =( But whatever.. I hope it doesn't last too long 'cause yeah... =/

Need to ask Lauren for a ride back from the Amtrak station on Sunday.. 'cause yeah.. getting in at 8:30 and walking back home isn't an option. =( She better be able to pick me up or I'll be really sad.. Hopefully I see her around tomorrow, lol. If not, I guess I'll just ask one of my other suitemates to ask her for me? And I'll write the time on my door to make sure they know..

Will also be writing Daylight Savings on my door before I leave, so they remember to turn their clocks and actually come get me on time..

My essay sucks ass, but whatever. Will print tomorrow, I guess.. =/ I'm over the fact that I'll probably get a crappy score on this, 'cause seriously.. I work so hard in my classes that I don't have the energy to even get mad at bad grades anymore. It's like, I work more than that bull 25-35 hours of studying per week and seriously, it's so not cool that I don't care anymore. I just want to be able to get a 3.0 so I can stay in the Honors program, but I'm not even holding out for that 'cause I know right now, I probably have a C in math and not an A in ARCH 131 or ARCH 105, so yeah.. And most likely a B so far in English, so.. I'm killing myself slowly. =/ I mean, I kinda don't want to do honors anymore since it's extra work, but at the same time, there's benefits, like honors classes and the fact that you're basically guarenteed in it if you want it, since there aren't that many honor students.. And at this point in time, guarenteed GE classes make me happy since I know they'd fit my schedule if I signed up for it ((since they tell you the times so you know and all...)), so yeah..

Gotta work on the AIAS website still.. The other guy working on it just e-mailed me a little bit agp and I had to go check that out, but yeah.. So tomorrow, will work on linking the pages together and will probably just throw the pages up on the website just so it'll be there, lol. Whateverz..

MORNING
I actually kinda woke up a few minutes early today. =O That didn't get me out of bed the first ring of the alarm though. I stayed in bed for about 10 more minutes after the alarm ((snooze, yo!)) and then got up when it rang again. Got ready and ate my food, then packed up my junk and then left around 7:45 or whatever. Heavy stuff, as usual.

ARCHITECTURE 131
The Dean of Architecture, or whatever his title is, came and introduced himself to us for the first couple of minutes of class. All the other classes were in our classroom for a change, lol. But yeah.. After that, the teachers told us that we were going on a field trip to LA on Saturday, October 28. I was thinking, 'Hey, that day sounds kinda familiar.. @_@' and then I busted out my planner to write it down, and what do I see? "BoBbleHeAd's Visiting" on that day. x_x Yeah. So yeah, anywayz.. Wrote it done while they were telling us a few details, like the fact that we have to get our own room for the night since we're staying Saturday night. "A couple of you might rent out a room with two twin beds and four of you might stay in there -- not eight" is what Brian said. Isn't that nice? Kinda reminds me of Calculus camp, where all the girls were just piled in the bedroom, haha. I need my sleeping bag though, if I end up rooming with people..

Oh, and did they mention that we have to get our own transportation there as well? Why, yes, they did, at the END of that little talk, they say, "You need to find a way to get there" and yeah. That sucks 'cause most people? Don't have a car. So.. Amtrak, loverz. Seven hours of my life wasted. The only good thing? No class the Friday before that weekend. OMFG, yes! I think I'm probably just gonna ditch my English class that day and take the Amtrak during the day. I check the times and stuff, and there's one that leaves around 10 or whatever, gets there at 4-ish and only costs, like, $29, so yeah. But we'll see when they give us more information next week..

When I get that info, I guess I'll ask Nga or whatever where they live and if it's convient for me to stay with them that weekend, haha. 'Cause if it's pretty close or if she can give me a ride to meet my class or whatever, that'd be great, haha. Then I wouldn't have to get a room, lol. XP But yeah.. we'll see..

After that, we worked on the 3-D cube thingies again 'cause we sucked on Monday. Finished that, pinned our stuff on the wall, then had a break. I went out to call [info]bobbleheadvi to make sure he didn't buy his tickets yet 'cause yeah. Field trip, lol. So he's gonna come on the 4th, I think. I dunno. Hopefully there's nothing going on then, lol.

Once the break was over, went over to the other classroom and they talked some of the analogs. Afterwards, they told us that the final analog one is due Friday, new illustration board, all nice and final and shit. x_x BLEHHH! Then went back to our class and Brian went around to everyone and gave advice on each person's analog. For mine, he just said to work more on the lines and less on tone 'cause yeah.. I had a bit of that, lol. ^_^;; And he said this one curvy line thing near the bottom of mine worked, but it lost some of its effect when it was trying to connect with some other line a little over on the page. And yeah.. said to work with more of the less obvious places and develop it more. The rest of the time that he was at other people, I was just on the computer, not knowing what to do, lol. Yeah..

BREAK
Went back to SG and then went to eat lunch 'cause Kitto and Lauren were going. So went with them, ate, then came back and just talked to [info]bobbleheadvi on the phone. Around 1:50, left my room for shool.

MATH 142
Went over arcsin and all the other inverses for the trig functions. BLEHHH! At least now I get where some of that stuff comes from, 'cause before, I never knew and I could barely remember some of the stuff, lol. Got lots of homework, as usual, but yeah..

Midterm tomorrow! =O I hope I don't suck, lol. I'm pretty confident, except for the work problems. Hopefully there's, like, only one of those so I can pass the rest, lol. XP

ENGLISH 134
Went over what we read for homework, then did this activity thing where we were in groups, got song lyrics, and had to analyze it or whatever. Like, write our thoughts and feelings, what was interesting or stood out, what the piece says about the author, and what the piece says for the intended audience. It was suppose to help us for our media sample essay and I kinda have an idea, I guess, but yeah..

AFTERWARDS
Went to the bookstore and bought more illustration board. It sucked 'cause there weren't smaller sheets of the white, just this yellowish off-white stuff and yeah. Needed white, so I had to get a huge 32x40 board or whatever it is. =/ That sucked carrying home. x_x Anywayz.. Went back to SG, got my stuff ready, then went over to Charis' room and interviewed her. It was kinda weird-ish 'cause I wasn't really that organized, lol. I didn't really take note-notes. It was just scribble-scrabble all over my notepad, haha. It's not really legible and yeah.. I didn't even write down what context the answers were in, lol. Like, when she was talking about how her dad influenced her, I just wrote "dad" and that's it. x_x I'm so lame, but it's a good thing I have a pretty good memory, lol. It also helps that if I need to confirm anything, she's only a door away, lol. XP

After interviewing with her, I just came back to my room and read some fics until I had to go to the CSI Product Rep presentation thing.

Around 5:50, started walking to school. Got there at six or whatever, got food, and then the presentation started.

The presentation was from Sherwin Williams, a paint company, if you don't know. ((I'm sure most people do, since they're huge, but [info]bobbleheadvi didn't, so yeah, lol. XP It was pretty boring, lol. I mean, it's paint, there's really not that much of interest, lol. But yeah.. learned some stuff, kinda.. And yeah. Afterwards, talked with Alex and.. Arthur, the other guy who said he'd do the website. Didn't really say much or anything and yeah.. After that, it was 7:00 and just walked home. BLEH!

Got home, measured and cut out my illustration board, choose my pictures for the final, worked a little on yesterday's math homework, a little on the study guide-type thing for the midterm, then started writing this entry.

I gotta do the reading and the exercises still for English tomorrow. And I need to write my media sample essay 'cause that's due on Friday and I haven't even started. Freakin' two-three pages.. ARGH! I guess I'll start the reading after I shower ((which I will after I'm done writing this)). Then after the reading stuff ((should only take.. about 15-ish minutes)), I'll try to start on my media sample essay, or at least, write out the four categories and stuff like we did in class for a start.

Also, gonna have to cut out my pictures and glue it to the illustration board. Then I guess I'll start on it, or at least get a few construction lines going.

So yeah.. busy, busy.. And I will probably be done showering at 9:00, so it's not like I have much time either. x_x

Okay, gotta go now. Will write more later tonight, if I have time, which I probably won't. x_x Lates.

MORNING
Didn't want to get up this morning 'cause I was finally sleeping pretty well. ARGH! Got up, got ready, ate my Raisin Bran, as usual, used the computer for a little, then packed up my stuff and left. Stuff was heavy, as usual. x_x

ARCHITECTURE 131
Did this one shading thing in the beginning. After that, went into the other classroom and talked about our next project. We basically have to do two contextual design thingies or whatever, each with two pictures we took. One will be digital and one will be by hand. But yeah.. Can't really explain 'cause I dunno how.. BLEH! Oh wellz.. I dunno if I will be doing it alll that great or anything. =/ After that, went back to our class and teacher talked a bit more about the project and showed us what some of the stuff in our kit was used for, then after that, had to go to our desks and choose the four pictures we're gonna use.

BREAK
Walked back to SG and read for my English class and used the computer a little. Aroud 1:00, went to eat lunch, then went back to my room to finish the English reading, then started walking to school around 1:45.

MATH 142
Learned inverses today. BLEH! I hate inverses.. BLEH! Lots of homework, as usual.. *sigh*

ENGLISH 142
Got our essays back. I got a 4 on it, which is equivalent to a C-. =/ Oh well.. I knew it was bad. He wrote a lot of comments ((hard to read)), but the basic jist was that it was confusing and I need to expand more and yeah.. Whatever.. After that, talked about the reading, then had to go around and say who we were interviewing. I said I was gonna interview Charis ((my suitemate)) and that she's a photographer. After that, got our homework changed a bit.. Have to still read from the book, the interview proposal is still due, but we also have to re-write a paragraph from our essay 'cause that's what the reading was about and yeah.. BLEH!

AFTERWARDS
Went to the bookstore to buy illustration board for the architecture project. Also needed rubber cement, but they were out. ARGH! Dumb place.. They dunno if they'll have any in by tomorrow, so.. if they don't, then I'm, like, screwed. I'll have to walk downtown and find that one Law's place or whatever and buy it there. =(

Went back to SG and attempted to work on my English homework, but didn't really get much done. After that, went to eat dinner around 5:20-ish. Finished and then walked to school for the AIAS & CSI meeting. Just turned in my membership papers and my checks. They basically said the same stuff from last meeting 'cause there were so many new people there.. Ended around 6:30 and I walked back to SG and then worked on my math homework. x_x After that, worked on English and I got stuck, so I started writing this entry. =/ I really need to get going on my English though..

I hate English so much.. *sigh* Dumb class.. I need to re-write that essay for a better grade, but I don't have time right now.. But I dunno how to re-write a paragraph right now.. It's so hard 'cause I'm trying to redo the intro and yeah.. Sucks. Good thing this essay is part of the homework category and not the essay category. I don't have to stress as much about redo-ing it all fast and stuff.. But yeah...

I dunno what else to write for my proposal 'cause like, I already covered the basics and it's only, like, two sentences or whatever. Only three and a half lines, ya know? And I know on the paper it says that it has to be less than a page, but I'm sure he's probably expecting half a page at least and yeah.. I don't have thoughts! x_x

I think I'm at a B right now in English since we've only had things in the homework category and everything that's graded that we got back so far averages into a B. =/

I think I have a B in math too 'cause we only got one math homework back so far and haven't taken any tests yet. The homework I got back was a B, so yeah..

I hate having so much work to do.. It's like, I never have time to do anything anymore. I've never felt so busy in my life and it's like, can't the workload go down a little? I dunno.. Less math, less English or whatever.. I mean, I guess I'm fine with the fact that my major classes have a bunch of projects 'cause I expected that, especially from architecture, ya know, but still.. GE classes shouldn't give so much homework, IMO. Everyone else I know ((not in my GE classes)) have like, practically no homework to do in there and it's like, WTF, why did I get stuck with teachers who like to give work? =/

I like to complain a lot.. *sigh*

I hate Wednesdays 'cause that's my busiest day with the classes and the clubs.. *sigh* Dumb thing..

Well, I guess I'm gonna shower now and then go back to finishing my English. *sigh* Laterz..

MORNING
So let me just say now, I didn't really sleep last night. Personal reasons, but I'm sure you can figure it out. All I can say is that it sucked. A LOT. x_x Got up around 6:30 and got ready.. Then ate Raisin Bran, got my stuff ready, and then left for school around 7:30. I had to carry my toolbox, laptop bag, and backpack. Lemme just say that I was NOT amused. It sucked ass.

ARCHITECTURE 131
Sat in a circle and introduced ourselves, where we're from, and why we decided on architecture. After that, got our self-protraits and set them out to look at. Later, we had to make models that represented the definitions and it was hard. =/ For Friday, we need to make four and document all of this it 'cause that's the first assignment. ARGH! It sucks. ;_;

BREAK
Went back to SG, went on the computer for a few minutes, then went and ate lunch. After that, went back to school and it was time for math.

MATH 142
Math was boring.. Found the area between two curves.. I was so bored and I was so tired.. I wanted to sleep so much, but I couldn't. It sucked.

ENGLISH 134
Talked about the essay we read.. Then discussed the writing process survey thing in groups and shared.. That's about it.

AFTERWARDS
Went to the bookstore and bought some CDs and batteries for my calculator. They didn't have CD labels or white CD sleeves. ARGH! And I need it for Friday too! ;_;

Went back to SG and went on the computer for a few minutes. Then went to go eat dinner and then left to go back to school for the AIAS and CSI meeting.

The meeting was pretty boring.. So expensive to join.. $55 for AIAS and $35 for CSI. x_x

Went back to SG after it was over and worked on my math homework. After that, showered, then worked on my models... Only got one done. ARGH! So mad.. I hate models! They should die. >O

HOMEWORK LIST:
- ARCH 131 // Vocabulary Development Project // Friday
- MATH 142 // 6.1 #1-30 (multiples of 3), 43, 44 // Thursday
- ENGL 134 // Some type of reading from the book // Thursday
- ENGL 134 // Writer History Essay // Friday

Oh yeah. Yesterday, there was the premire of AFI's "Love Like Winter". It wasn't what I was expecting the video to be.. I don't know. Kinda disappointing, but whatever.

Today, it was MCR's "Welcome to the Black Parade". It was okay, but I don't know.. Something about it didn't get me into it.

You can check both out, if you haven't already, at MTV2.com.
